Ben Weiner took inspiration from nineteenth-century map lettering, gravestones and the maker's plates on cast-iron machinery. The result has flowing, bulging curves, deliberate awkwardness and small bobbles on the terminals. It belongs to the modern face genre, found in books printed throughout that century.
