Kostas Bartsokas designed Oi as an ultra fat display face rooted in grotesque slab serifs, especially the style that arose with Caslon's Ionic in 1844 and Clarendon from Fann Street Foundry in 1845. It twists the clarendonesques in a loud, free spirited way.
