Sarah Cadigan-Fried revived a Victorian needlepoint alphabet drawn in Berlin by Heinrich Kuehn around 1880. Knitting type works much like pixel type, but the pixel size depends on the yarn, and the scale depends on the yarn weight and on how many pixels make up a letter's height.
